The China Non-Ferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA) is a national, non-profit, industry-specific economic social organization voluntarily established by enterprises, institutions, and social groups in China’s non-ferrous metals industry to achieve common goals. It is a legally registered social organization with corporate status. The association complies with national laws and regulations, adheres to the principle of serving the government, the industry, and enterprises, establishes and improves industry self-discipline mechanisms, fully leverages its role as an advisor and assistant to the government, acts as a bridge and bond between the government and enterprises, safeguards the legitimate rights and interests of its members, and promotes the healthy development of China’s non-ferrous metals industry. Its Party-building leadership authority is the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council, and its registration authority is the Ministry of Civil Affairs
The IAI was established in 1972. Current IAI membership includes global bauxite, alumina and aluminium companies in all major producing regions.
